Minimum Qualifications
Must be a minimum 18 years of age at time of application

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license with the ability to obtain a DMV Firefighter endorsement

Must possess a valid California Paramedic License with ACLS certification at time of application.

Must possess a current PALS or PEPP and ITLS or PHTLS certification

Must possess a California Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) that is valid (dated within the past 1 year) at the time of application

Must possess a current Health Care Provider CPR certificate/card consistent with AHA, including a skills component

Must possess a California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I certification or proof of completion of a California State Fire Marshal accredited Firefighter I Academy under the 2013 curriculum by the time of application. If your Firefighter I Academy certification predates the 2013 curriculum change, your application will not be considered. Out of state candidates will have to show that their fire academy training or firefighter I certificate has reciprocity with California State Fire Training.

Must have at least six months of experience working as a full-time paramedic in a primary 911 system
