Highway Patrol Trooper - South Carolina, SC

Description
Enforces all vehicle laws and other criminal laws. Patrols the highways of the state of South Carolina. Investigates collisions. Serves as a witness in criminal and civil courts. Maintains reports concerning enforcement activities. Provides information to public regarding vehicle laws. Responsible and accountable for handling public funds.
Requirements
A high school diploma. Must be a US citizen and at least 21 years old. Must be able to perform all essential job functions. Candidates who wear eye glasses or contact lenses should meet an uncorrected standard of 20/100 corrected to 20/20. A valid SC driver's license is required. May be required to relocate at the time of employment. Uncertified applicants must successfully complete the Highway Patrol Training Program (20 weeks). Applicants with basic law enforcement certification in SC must successfully complete 13 weeks of training. You do not have to be a SC resident to apply for this position. All applicants will be required to take a urinalysis test to screen for illegal substances prior to appointment.

All state government transfers will be required to do the following: (1) Take a one-day break-in-service (2) Be paid for unused annual leave (3) Forfeit all sick leave
