Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from High School or GED.
Possession of a valid class C driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina or eligibility for possession.
NC Firefighter Certification (Firefighter II)
NC Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B)
NC Hazardous Materials Level I Responder
Incident Command Courses meeting NFPA 1561/ NIMS-ICS 100,200,700 and 800.
Successful completion of a physical agility test.
Successfully pass a physical health screening.
Requires drug testing and background verification including references, criminal record and driver’s license checks prior to employment.
Candidates may provide equivalent certification with ability to receive reciprocity for IFSAC and/or National Pro Board certification through OSFM for all applicable fire certifications.
