Knowledge of modern firefighting methods and techniques with the ability to apply this for fire extinguishmentC. General knowledge of the use and operations of rope and rescue equipment necessary for the shipyard environmentD. California State Fire Marshal or FEMA Incident Command 100 and 200 certificationsE. Assists in implementing fire protection and prevention on ships under construction, shipyard and buildings.F. Must be able to follow directions in emergency and non-emergency situationsG. Must have a valid CA driver’s license H. Maintain Healthcare Provider CPR and San Diego County Emergency Medical Technician with valid certification with AED and ETAD certifications.I. Current CPAT or Biddle
J. Must be physically able to: • Perform the duties of a Firefighter/EMT.• Lift weights up to 100 pounds • Must be able to wear a self contained breathing apparatus • Wear and/or operate various firefighting and rescue equipment• Use power and hand tools• Climb ladders, work at heights, and operate High Reach equipment. • Work in and perform confined space rescues. • Write complete, concise and legible reports. • Pass a pre-employment and yearly physical examination.
