Must live and/or work within 5 miles of station 81.
SALARY: $11.00/hour [minimum wage] for on-call hours (training and responding to emergency incidents).
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous education or experience in the area of firefighting is not necessary. Training will be provided through the Recruit Fire Academy as well as Oak Harbor Fire Department minimum skills requirements during a probationary period of employment.
Must live or work within a 5 mile radius of Oak Harbor Fire Department Station 81, 855 E. Whidbey Avenue.
Must be 18 years of age at time of application.
Must be eligible to work in the United States and able to read and write the English language.
Must have high school diploma, GED or equivalent
Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License (or must obtain upon completion of probationary period).
Must have a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier (six month minimum).
Must have or be able to complete IFSAC accredited Firefighter I Certification within 18 months of hire date.
Must have or be able to complete State of Washington Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification endorsed for De?Fibrillation or equivalent National EMT Certificate within 36 months of hire date.
