• Disaster Management Certificate.
Disaster Management Certificate
Benedictine University's Disaster Management Certificate is designed for the
widest spectrum of emergency response professionals including government officials,
law enforcement, emergency services, public health, and other healthcare professionals.
If you are an emergency responder, our curriculum will prepare you for multiple
phases of disaster management including mitigation, preparedness, response,
and recovery. The curriculum includes Psychology and Sociology of Disasters,
Principles of Emergency and Disaster Management, Disaster Assessment and Mitigation
and Disaster Management in Public Health.
The Disaster Management certificate program requires 16 credit-hours and may
be taken independent of the MPH degree or as part of it. Faculty with specific
real-world expertise teach each course in ways that engage the working professional.
Students will learn concepts, facts and skills that underlie effective disaster
management. Emphasis is on practical knowledge that crosscuts the many professions
that must coordinate their efforts to meet a crisis or an emergency. Students
may apply their certificate credits to the MPH degree at Benedictine University.
