Security Officer – Tampa, Florida

*** Up to a $500 Sign-on Bonus for Full-time and Part-time New Officers ***

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Perform unarmed or armed security duties at the commercial and industrial complexes.
· Conduct patrols or man post, as instructed, and serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent of crime and client rule infractions; detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or client rule infractions at or near assigned post which may be a threat to the client and personal property and safety.
· Perform security patrols, on foot or by vehicle, to enforce rules, laws, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to the security and safety within the officers area of responsibility (AOR).
· Security Officers will be responsible for providing access control and screening at all times while working at various locations.
· Checks and secures buildings, gates, door, and windows in accordance with security directives and procedures. Patrols assigned buildings and grounds to deter arson, theft, vandalism and other acts of crime detrimental to life and property. Investigates and determines responsibility for incidents involving damage, personal injury, vehicle accidents, thefts, trespassing and other violations involving client property and facilities.
· Uses intermediate level knowledge and skills obtained through experience and training to perform shift work at an assigned post to ensure a safe, functional environment for employees and visitors and to protect life and property.
· Regular contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain or provide information and maintain a secure environment in a manner that enhances the Company’s value, reputation and relationships.
· Prepares reports, logs and other correspondence in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and directives to document circumstances and activities.
· Able to safely work in a variety of work environments including commercial and industrial locations.

Minimum Qualifications (MUST be attained before the recruitment start date):

· Completion of an approved State of Florida 40 hr. Unarmed Security Officer course and in possession of an approved Florida Class D license from the DOACS.
· Possess or obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
· Possess transportation and be able to commute to various job sites within 50 miles of Downtown Tampa as assigned.
· 24/7 Smartphone (Android, iPhone or Windows) with Internet Access.
· Intermediate computer skills with emphasis on emailing, web browsing, MS Word, and Adobe PDF.
· English communication skill, including reading and writing: Able to read and interpret instructions and procedures; including SOPs, post orders, statutes, laws, and regulations.
· Able to work in adverse weather conditions (rain, cold, heat, etc.) for extended periods of time during an 8- hour work shift (up to 16-hours, if needed).
· Able to work in a variety of work environments including commercial and industrial locations.
· Able to maintain availability and work flexible schedules including overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

· College Degree.
· One (1) year work experience in security or supervisory related position.
· Prior military/law enforcement preference: submit documentation to support entitlement to preference must be provided at the time of application.
· Completion of an approved State of Florida 28 hr. Armed Security Officer course and in possession of an approved Florida Class G license from the DOACS.
· CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain.
